Installation - WiFi Integration

Pronestor Visitor offers integration with existing WiFi access points through RAIDUS.

Attached you’ll find a document describing how Pronestor Visitor can be integrated with a visitor WiFi using a RADIUS server. The paper describes this process using a Clearbox RADIUS server – however the same process will work with any RADIUS server that can validate user/passwd towards an SQL server.

IMPORTANT - support on RADIUS settings and configuration of this on access points is not covered by the service and maintenance agreement of Pronestor.

User and password

When a new badge is printed, a unique username and password is created for each individual badge. The username and password will be used by RADIUS for authentication. (please see next section in regards to controlling the username and password complexity)

The username and password can be printed on a badge by editing the badge_1.xml to include the following elements

<element xsi:type="TextElement">
   <x>200</x>
   <y>90</y>
   <textvalue>User:</textvalue>
   <fontname>Arial</fontname>
   <fontsize>8</fontsize>
</element>
<element xsi:type="TextElement">
   <x>200</x>
   <y>100</y>
   <textvalue>Passwd:</textvalue>
   <fontname>Arial</fontname>
   <fontsize>8</fontsize>
</element>
   <element xsi:type="InputElement">
   <x>250</x>
   <y>90</y>
   <inputname>CUSTOMFIELD:badge.wifi_user</inputname>
   <fontname>Arial</fontname>
   <fontsize>8</fontsize>
</element>
<element xsi:type="InputElement">
   <x>250</x>
   <y>100</y>
   <inputname>CUSTOMFIELD:badge.wifi_password</inputname>
   <fontname>Arial</fontname>
   <fontsize>8</fontsize>
</element>

Username and password complexity

By default - the username is generated using two letters from firstname and lastname - followed by a random number from 1-9.The password will be a random number of 5 digits.

By setting "PNG_wifi_complex" to "true" (set in the configuration table on SQL) - the username and password will be generated from lists of predefined texts. "WiFiUserList.txt" and "WiFiPasswordlist.txt" in the application folder (same folder as png_config.xml).
Each file should have a text/name pr line - if the text/name is less than 8 characters - a random number will be added so that the string is 8 characters. If the text/name is more than 8 characters - it will not append any numbers.

When a new username or password is to be added for a badge, it will randomly choose from the list.
